Custom Datadog Tags When Using a Built-in Integration

September 7, 2022Visual Studio Code recently added a very useful feature called “Sticky Scroll”. I just started to try it out, and it has already proved to be very handy. One of the projects I work on has a lot of legacy code, and some of the queries, functions, and files are extremely large. I seemed to always get lost in the code and would lose track of where I am. This tool has been very helpful in helping me work on that project and I don’t find myself losing my place as often.
In order to activate this feature, you need to enable the editor.stickyScroll.enabled
or look for the Editor >Sticky Scroll: Enabled
option in your settings and check it.
Here is a small snippet of what you can expect after enabling the feature. As you can see it keeps track of what function you’re currently in, as well as holds the object reference in the case of building up large objects.
If you are a VS Code user and you want to never get lost in code again, give this tool a try! You won’t regret it.
